Turntable Ops ("we", "us") provides software that helps family entertainment center operators understand the outside factors affecting their business. This policy explains what information the service collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how to have it removed. It covers both this website and the Turntable Ops application.

Who we are

Turntable Ops is operated by Eric Johnson. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of your data, contact eric@turntableops.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — the email address used to sign in.
  • Business details — your venue's name, street address, opening hours, and settings such as which school districts serve your customers.
  • Questions you ask — the text of questions put to the assistant, and the answers returned.

Information you send through this website

If you request a free FEC Market Report, the form asks for your name, your venue's name, its street address, city, state and ZIP code, your email address, and which attractions you offer. We use those details to build the report and to send it to you.

Our website host records some technical information with each submission: the IP address it was sent from, the browser's user agent, the page it was sent from, and the time. We do not use it to build a profile of you.

Requesting a report does not create an account, does not subscribe you to anything, and connects none of your systems to us. The report is built from public data about the area around the address you give.

Information from services you connect

Nothing is connected automatically. Each data source is switched on individually, and is described before you authorize it. Where a connection uses your Google Account, it is covered in the section below.

Information about places and conditions

The service retrieves data that is not about you personally: weather observations and forecasts, public school district calendars, publicly listed local events, publicly listed business information for venues in your area, and aggregate demographic statistics from the US Census Bureau. This is stored against your account so your questions can be answered against it.

Data accessed through Google APIs

If you choose to connect your Google Ads account, Turntable Ops requests the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords scope. We use that access for one purpose: to retrieve keyword ideas and monthly search volumes for a geographic area you specify, so that the search terms we track for your market are the ones people actually type rather than phrases we invented.

We do not, through this access:

  • create, modify, pause or delete any advertising campaign;
  • access billing details, payment methods or invoices;
  • read or export customer lists, audience lists or remarketing data;
  • use the data to advertise to you or to anyone else;
  • share the data with any other Turntable Ops customer.

Turntable Ops' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data received from Google APIs is not sent to any third-party artificial intelligence model and is not used to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine learning models.

You can withdraw this access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, or by disconnecting the source inside the app. Revoking access stops all further retrieval; data already retrieved is deleted on request as described below.

How we use information

  • To operate the service and answer the questions you ask.
  • To retrieve the external data relevant to your specific location.
  • To maintain and improve the reliability of the product.
  • To contact you about your account or about a problem with the service.
  • To produce and send a Market Report you asked for, and to follow up about it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your business data to serve you advertising.

How answers are generated

Answers to your questions are generated by an AI model running in Google Cloud. To produce an answer, the question and the relevant business context — for example the current forecast, your opening hours, or the events near you — are processed there. Google does not use customer data processed in Google Cloud to train its models. As stated above, data obtained through Google APIs is excluded from this processing.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the product, and only for that purpose:

  • Google Cloud — hosting, database and file storage, and generating answers as described above.
  • Netlify — hosting this website, and holding the submissions sent through the Market Report form until we collect them.

We may also disclose information where required by law. If the business is ever sold or transferred, you will be told before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

Where data is stored, and how it is protected

Data is stored in Google Cloud services located in the United States. Access is limited to the people who need it to operate the service. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

How long we keep it

Account and business data is kept while your account is open. Retrieved external data — weather history, event records, competitor listings — is kept so that historical questions can be answered. Delete your account, or email us, and everything associated with it is removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain a record by law.

A Market Report request is kept for up to 24 months, so we have a record of what was sent and when, and is then deleted. Ask us sooner and it goes sooner.

Your choices

  • Ask for a copy of the information held about you.
  • Ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
  • Disconnect any connected data source at any time.
  • Withdraw Google API access directly through your Google Account.

Email eric@turntableops.com for any of these.

Children

Turntable Ops is a business tool sold to venue operators. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The service does not collect information about individual guests or visitors to a venue.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. The application stores a small amount of information in your browser — your sign-in session and interface preferences — which is needed for it to work and is not used for tracking.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes and account holders are notified by email before the change takes effect.
